Tiger Talk Feb 12

Tiger Talk    Feb 12

Grades 9 – 12 are settling into their new routine for second semester.

By the time you are reading this, 6 students from Reston School will have put in a full day of rehearsals in Brandon for the Westman Honour Band. Kristen Halls and Jordan Bertholet on flute, Emma Ray and Haleigh Vandenberghe on clarinet, and Marianne Quitiong on alto sax will all be part of the Junior Honour Band. Shae-Lynn Davies is our only high school participant. She will be playing the bass clarinet in the Senior Honour Band. After a day and a half of rehearsing, a public concert will be presented at the WestMan Centennial Auditorium at 3 pm on Saturday. We hope to have some pictures next week.

Unfortunately some of the trees that were planted around the playground perimeter in June 2014 have not survived. However, the West Souris River Conservation District has contacted the school and will be replacing those trees sometime this spring. We are thankful to have such an organization at our disposal, always willing to lend a hand.

Mrs. Tawnis McLeod was our guest speaker for I Love to Read Month. Mrs. McLeod is the librarian at Elkhorn School. She spent all day Wednesday with us reading to students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. She is an animated, enthusiastic reader and everyone enjoyed her visit.
