Tiger Talk Oct. 28th


Wow was our last full week of October only Halloween left and things are very busy here at Reston School!

Varsity girls volleyball, they lost to Boissevain last week but defeated Sioux Valley. They went to Killarney on Tuesday October 25th and played Melita on Thursday. They are also headed to Hamiota this Friday and Saturday for a tournament.

Football results: The Sabres lost to the Dauphin Clippers 50-35. The boys move on to the league semifinals vs. Moosomin this Saturday October 29th.

High School hockey will be starting soon and they have been practicing very hard for their first game of the season on November 6th. The guys that our playing with the Souris Sabres this year from Reston are John Patmore, Kyle Campion and  Julian Smith.

Student Council news:  Many students are opting to pay to wear their hats on Tiger Ten days. So far the student council benefited from this very well with $82 raised already. The student council is planning a pizza fundraiser for Friday November 4th. Order forms were to be returned by October 26th. Intramural dodge ball semi finals were held this week at noon.

If you buy milk at school during lunch break please remember to put your name in the ‘ Got Milk’ container to enter for monthly prizes.

Our next Tiger Ten assembly will be on November 4th. This is very exciting, we get to see what the class has come up with for the theme Citizenship. Also if you want to support your student council you can wear your hat that day!

Remembrance Day is fast approaching and the Grade 12’s have been working hard to make the ceremony very nice and respectful to all. The program begins at 2 pm here at Reston school on Thursday, November 10 and following the ceremony the Grade 12 class will be serving refreshments in the library.

A reminder that Halloween is right around the corner. The school has handed out Halloween bags to the elementary students donated by MPI. Elementary classes will hold their Halloween parties Monday afternoon and at the same time Grade 7 – 12 advisory groups will participate in some fun activities in the gym. Rumor has it there might be scary stories in the library on Monday morning. There will also be a Halloween dance being held at the Reston Elementary School tonight, Friday, October 28 from at 7pm – 11pm.
